As you might be able to tell by the 18 Aug 2008 post, we here at the WI are big fans of Surfas. When they moved around the corner to bigger digs in 2006, a bonus was the birth of Café Surfas. Serving up inventive breakfast and lunch panini, burgers, “haute” dogs and salads (to name a few—check out their complete menu), the café also stocks an impressive list of imported cheeses and charcuterie that can be purchased by the pound. We were thrilled to see many hard to find Italian cheeses (like Taleggio and Burrata) and salumi that we became mercilessly addicted to while touring Italy recently. Don’t know what to order (or what to do with it once you get it home)? Just ask any of the staff. They are more than happy to educate you on the fine nuances of serving meats and cheese.
